Gilbert L. Rochon, Tuskegee University president, said the $250 million campaign, “Programmed for Excellence,” was necessary to preserve Tuskegee’s legacy and help the university advance to a premier research institution. He mentioned several areas that the campaign will help address such as increasing the endowment, improved student housing and enhancing athletic programs.

“We obviously need to dramatically improve our athletic facilities,” Rochon said. “… But, we need funds for athletic scholarships, coaching staff, medical facilities and we really need a field house.”
