BET College Tour returns to Tuskegee
BET College Tour
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (October 12, 2012) BET College Tour will return to Tuskegee University’s campus on October 17. The tour will bring the campus an event-filled day of entertainment, games, concerts, product samples and consumer information as well as health screenings and voter registration.
"The BET College Tour will bring a positive impact to the campus through the voter registration drive, which is very important for students to register and vote in this November election,” said Antonio Minifield,Student Government Association president.
Minifield said students will also be able to gain information about various employment opportunities at the career tent andthe tour will promote awareness about safe sex and health issues with the RAP-IT-UP BET health screenings.
The tour will kick off its events at 12p.m. There will be a singing contest at 12:30 p.m. followed by a “drop the beat contest” at 1p.m. One of the students’ favorite events, the freestyle rap battle will be held at 1:30p.m.; a free concert featuring guest performers will start at 2p.m. Shortly after at 2:30 p.m., there will be a 3-point basketball contest and a “2-on- 2 B-Ball” contest.
