Fashion show brings style and flair to homecoming
TUSKEGEE, Ala. (October 31, 2013) – Students, near and far, took to the runway as part of the 2013 homecoming fashion show. Student event organization, Live L.I.F.E., hosted the show Wednesday in Logan Hall. The fashion show was part of a week of events dedicated to bringing the “Spirit of Tuskegee” to this year’s homecoming celebration.
The fashion show also was a competition as Tuskegee University and neighboring schools came out and presented their own sense of personal style and flair. Visiting schools that participated included Alabama State University, Fort Valley State University, and Alabama A&M University. Each school provided the show with their own theme separating themselves from their competitors. When asked about what made the fashion show so unique, founder and president of Live L.I.F.E., Charles Keyes stated that it was the individual competition scene that made the show so special.
“We let each school pick their own theme. So often with fashion shows, schools are given a theme. With giving them their own they were allowed to give their own twist,” Keyes said.
After it was all said and done, Alabama State University emerged as the victor winning the trophy for best female model and as the Live L.I.F.E. fashion show champions.
Live L.I.F.E. events organization, is a student group based on sponsoring the school with community service events, forums, and social events. The fashion show that Live L.I.F.E. hosts serves to encourage student involvement and support at Tuskegee University.
