Porter retires from business and fiscal affairs posts


TUSKEGEE, Ala. (March 31, 2011) – Leslie V. Porter on March 31 retired from his posts as vice president for business and fiscal affairs and chief financial officer for the university. He held the positions for approximately 12 years.


Porter received his bachelor’s degree in economics from New York University and his master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.


Under Porter’s direction, Tuskegee’s endowment completely recovered from the recession and currently ranks among the top three Historically Black Colleges and Universities, with respect to endowment resources. Prior to his employment with the university, Porter held major fiscal administrative positions with the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Los Angeles County Transportation Commission and Alameda-Contra Costa Transit Authority.
