Tuskegee named No. 5 HBCU by U.S. News and World Report


TUSKEGEE, Ala. (August 11, 2011) — U.S. News and World Report ranked Tuskegee University among the top 10 Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the nation on their annual “Best Colleges” List. Tuskegee ranked No. 5 of the 35 schools receiving rankings.


The publication also named Tuskegee the No. 5 regional university in the South awarding fewer than half its degrees in liberal arts. The institution’s occupational therapy program was named among the top in the nation.


Among the methodology components considered for the rankings are: peer assessment, retention, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving rate.
