Tuskegee University transcripts now available online

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (April 10, 2015) — Tuskegee University alumni and students now have quick and easy access to their transcripts, through the university’s implementation of a new online delivery service that launches today. This change is related to one of the institution’s five strategic priorities outlined in its vision document— fully inaugurating 21st Century Higher Education through Infrastructure and Technology.

“Our students and alumni are the backbone of this institution,” said Dr. Brian L. Johnson, Tuskegee University president. “Utilizing an online transcript request and delivery service not only puts us inline with having the types of amenities offered by our peers, but it enhances the level of customer service that we are able to offer our most important constituents and stakeholders – the sons and daughters of Mother Tuskegee.”

Among the benefits of the new transcript ordering service are:
  • Convenient 24/7 access
  • Electronic delivery in 15 minutes (if there are no holds on the student’s account)
  • Secure transactions
  • Immediate, secure electronic transcript delivery worldwide
  • Automatic order updates via mobile text alerts and email
  • Online order tracking
  • Ability to order multiple transcripts for multiple recipients in one order
“We are truly moving along an upward trajectory by adopting this more modern system,” states Jenell Sargent, chief information officer. “Our students and alumni need these options to be able to reach their academic and career goals. ”

The reduced transcript request processing time will be of benefit to graduating students and alumni who often need transcripts sent to potential employers immediately, as well as for current students who are meeting timely deadlines for scholarship applications that require transcripts.

“This will provide quick and efficient service to our students and alumni for the retrieval of their academic transcript,” said Edrice Leftwich, registrar. “It will also give some relief to the staff in processing the hundreds of transcripts that are done weekly in the office. I am especially pleased that we are also implementing one of the president's goals in the first pillar, which shows that we are fully integrating 21st Century Higher Education at Tuskegee University through online technology.”

PDF and electronic delivery transcripts can be processed for an $11.25 fee and paper transcripts can be ordered online for mail delivery or pick up from the university for $9.50. Students and alumni can go to www.tuskegee.edu/transcript and log onto a secure portal. Students and alumni who submit transcript requests receive real-time order updates by email and can request to receive instant mobile text alerts or track their orders online.
