University detective receives commendation for theft investigation

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (February 4, 2011) — Tuskegee University president, Dr. Gilbert L. Rochon, presented Tuskegee University Sgt. Daniel Motley with one of the highest honors in law enforcement, the “"Meritorious Service Award," as recommended by Chief Patrick Mardis. Motley conducted a joint investigation, which led to the arrest of suspects in a rash of burglaries in student apartments during the university’s Christmas break.

Motley, a seasoned law enforcement officer, joined the Tuskegee University Police Department in October as a detective.
