About the Department of Athletics

TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY varsity athletic teams compete in the 13-team Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). The conference includes Tuskegee, Albany State, Benedict, Claflin, Clark Atlanta, Fort Valley State, Kentucky State, Lane, LeMoyne-Owen, Miles, Morehouse, Paine and Stillman.

Week Ten: Golden Tigers win two, drop one
It was a roller coaster week for the Golden Tigers. It began with them dropping a 59-58 decision to Paine College at the James Center on Monday; it ended with them eking out a 68-65 overtime victory against Albany State on Saturday.

Hannah named to SBN All-America team; Slater and Hannah to receive awards

Tuskegee's all-conference defensive back and SIAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year, Justin Hannah, was recently selected as a member of the 2009 Sheridan Broadcasting Network Black College All-America team.  The 5-foot-10 senior defensive back will be honored along with other players, Feb. 12-13, at the 35th Annual SBN Sports Black College All-American Awards at the Doubletree Resort in Orlando, Fla.

Golden Tigers outlast inspired Stillman effort
Freshman Calvin Thomas scored 19 points and pulled down six rebounds on Monday night to help the Tuskegee Golden Tigers defeat the visiting Tigers of Stillman College, 84-82.
