Food and Nutritional Sciences Degree Programs
The Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences offers the undergraduate degree in Food Science, Nutritional Science, the Didactic Program in General Dietetics, and dual degrees as well as the Master's degree in Food or Nutritional Science.

Food and Nutritional Sciences Research
Current areas of department research include:  food safety issues involving the identification and efficacy of natural antimicrobials; food chemistry projects to increase levels of beneficial food components and reduce health-risk components; refinement of new products from sweetpotato and peanut for future NASA space missions; and the relationship between dietary factors and coronary heart disease and cancer among rural African Americans.
