Rickey Hayes joined Tuskegee University Sports Medicine staff in May 2001..

A 1986 graduate of San Jose State, Hayes earned two bachelor’s degrees in pre-medicine and journalism and became a certified athletic trainer in 1987. He earned his master’s degree in sports administration from Northern Colorado in 1996. During his college years, Hayes worked as a student trainer at San Jose State. Following graduation, he spent three seasons as an assistant athletic trainer at Stanford. Working with the football and baseball teams, Hayes made two trips to the College World Series.

In 1990, Hayes moved to the National Football League where he spent two seasons as an assistant athletic trainer with the Los Angeles Rams. In the fall of 1992, he became the head athletic trainer at Florida A&M. Hayes spent two seasons at Florida A&M before going to the Air Force Academy in the fall of 1994.

In July 1998, Hayes was appointed to the NCAA/NFL task force on head and neck injuries. The athletic trainer for the United States national judo team, Hayes has worked three Olympics—1988 in Seoul, Korea, 1992 in Barcelona, Spain and 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia.

Johnson joined the Tuskegee University Sports Medicine staff in October 2007.

She received her bachelor's degree in Athletic Training from Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., while working as a student athletic trainer covering collegiate football, men's basketball, men's tennis, soccer and cheerleading.

After receiving her certification, she became a graduate assistant for the two-time NCAA men and women swimming and diving championship teams at Auburn University.  Johnson completetd her Master's in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Motor Behavior and Sports Psychology.

Johnson, who ia proud parent, has traveled extensively, including Germany. She has had some work opportunities wih NFL/Europa.
