"Cultivating the Millenium Entrepreneur"

Guest Speakers:

 Dr. Randal Pinkett has established himself as an entrepreneur, speaker, author and community servant. He is the founder, chairman and CEOof BCT Partners, a multimillion dollar consulting firm based in Newark, N.J., that specializes in information technology, organizational development, and public policy. Dr. Pinkett was also named the winner of NBC's hit reality television show, "The Apprentice," with Donald Trump. He was responsible overseeing both renovation and information technology projects for Trump Entertainment Resorts in Atlantic City, N.J. Since then, Pinkett has maintained a role with the Trump Organization as a boardroom advisor on The Apprentice, national spokesperson for the Trump Institute and faculty member for Trump University.

Prior to founding BCT Partners, Pinkett gained corporate experience as a member of Technical Staff at General Electric, AT&T Bell Laboratories, and Lucent Technologies.

Mr. Daryl Williams is the director of Research and Policy for the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation, where he supports programs to advance minority entrepreneurship. Williams also is the national executive director of the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership Inc., a partnership with the National Economic Council at the White House, the Business Roundtable, the Kauffman Foundation, and other national organizations designed to help grow minority entrepreneurs around the country. Additionally, Williams is the national executive director of the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership Gulf Coast Inc., a program that connects private, public, and nonprofit sector resources to foster entrepreneurship, business development, and job creation in the areas devastated by Hurricane Katrina.

Mr. Luke W. Reynolds is Chief of Outreach & Program Development at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) headquarters in Washington, DC.   In this role, he oversees various community development-related projects, including the FDIC's award-winning financial education program, Money Smart.  In addition to serving on the editorial board for the FDIC Consumer News publication, Mr. Reynolds manages staffs who work on several other national initiatives and research projects.  Mr. Reynolds, a native Oregonian, holds a baccalaureate degree with High Distinction from Indiana University where he studied public financial management and economics, a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Loyola Marymount University Law School in Los Angeles, and is a licensed attorney in California and the District of Columbia. 

Born and raised in the Atlanta suburb of Decatur, Mr. Derick Halliman always had aspirations of spearheading his own brand. The self-made businessman just never had an inclination he would ultimately make ripples in the water industry. When the opportunity came to start Lucid Enterprises, LLC in 1997, Derick dove at the chance. Over subsequent years, the products Lucid have concentrated on has evolved from water filtration systems to top-shelf bottled waters. "Being a small business, people don't believe that you're going to be around. It's hard getting sales people. It's hard getting people to be loyal to you. But when you are a small business, you can really fly your own plane. You can either sink or swim. Fortunately, the ideas I've come up with have kept me afloat."
