Faculty Opportunities

Under the previous HBCU-UP grant active 1999-2004, several opportunities were available for faculty members.

Faculty Partners: Faculty could apply to spend the summer at one of the partner institutions. Development of teaching and/or research programs was the focus of this opportunity.

Faculty Development Workshops: The use of technology in teaching was the focus of the workshops. During 2001-2002, a series of hands-on workshops occurred ranging from the use of Maple in teaching mathematics to the more general use of Blackboard, the On-line teaching resource at Tuskegee University called TU-Online.

Technology Mini-grants: Participants in the workshops were eligible for these grants. A faculty member could have received up to $3,000 to improve the use of technology in teaching.
