Graduate School Fellowships

GRADUATE FELLOWSHIPS 

There are many fellowships available for attending graduate school.  Science and Engineering majors typically attend graduate school with all tuition and fees covered and a stipend check as well.  Stipends vary from school to school and major to major.

Opportunities for:

National Programs can be applied to many different graduate schools around the country.  They are competitive and prestigious.  Read the requirements at the fellowship's website carefully, as all programs differ in what is offered and what is expected.

National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program.  Can be applied to any Ph.D. program.

Science, Engineering, Mathematics majors, U.S. citizens

Depends on area, earliest is Nov. 3, 2008, latest is Nov. 12, 2008

National Institute of Health Individual Predoctoral Fellowships to Promote Diversity in Health-Related Research

  August 13, December 13, April 13 annually

National Physical Science Consortium.  Can be applied at many schools (listed on their website).

Seniors (or M.S. students) planning to enroll in a Ph.D. program in physical science, biochemistry, or engineering.  U.S. citizens

November 5, 2008

Ford Foundation Diversity Fellowships.

Applicant can be enrolled in or applying to graduate school in many disciplines of science, mathematics, engineering, and some liberal arts.  U.S. citizens

National Science Foundation Integrative Graduate Education and Research Training (IGERT) Fellowships.  These are special graduate programs located around the country
