Prospective Students and Parents Invited to Fall Open House - Nov. 14, 2009

The Tuskegee University Family - the faculty, staff, administrators, and students - are set to welcome prospective students and their families during their annual Fall Open House, November 14, 2009.

"This is the opportunity for Tuskegee University to show off its highly acclaimed academic programs in engineering, veterinary medicine, business, the sciences, and liberal arts. It's a time to show off Tuskegee not only as a historical institution, but one that is leading in cutting edge research," said Dr. Robert Laney, Jr., Vice President of Admissions and Enrollment Management.

"We are proud that so many students take advantage of the showcase of excellence that Tuskegee displays during Open House and we know that students will benefit greatly from this first-hand experience," says Ms. Courtney Griffin, Coordinator of the Fall Open House. "It's one thing to read about the Tuskegee Experience, but an entirely different and overwhelming occurrence to see it for yourself."

Registration begins at 8:00 a.m., where student ambassadors and academic deans will give prospective students and their parents an entertaining overview of the different and exciting aspects of student life at the University. Students will then have the opportunity to inquire about Tuskegee's elite academic programs and meet the department heads behind producing some of the leading scholars, executives, engineers, architects, and scientists in the nation. Key campus administrators will also be on hand to answer questions regarding housing, scholarships, job placement, cooperative education opportunities, and other campus information.

Before enjoying lunch, visitors will assemble in the General Daniel "Chappie" James Center to catch a glimpse of student life at Tuskegee with performances by the Marching Crimson Piper Band, the Golden Tigers Cheerleading Squad, the Army and Air Force ROTC cadets, and the PanHellenic Council Members.

Register early for Fall Open House 2009. Students and Groups can register by filling out and submitting the online form, downloading the mail-in form, or by contacting the Office of Admissions at 1-800-622-6531.
