TUSKEGEE, Ala. (December 3, 2008) - The world renowned Tuskegee University Golden Voices Choir will bring in the holiday season with their annual Christmas concert on Sunday, Dec. 7, in the University Chapel. The performance, which begins at 6:30 p.m., precedes the lighting of the University Christmas tree.
"The annual Christmas concert is perhaps one of the largest cultural events here at Tuskegee University," said Dr. Wayne Barr, choir director. "For both the campus and the community, it marks the beginning of the Christmas season and has a way of putting everyone in the Christmas spirit."
Barr said the Golden Voices will perform a portion of HandelĂs Messiah with full orchestral accompaniment, along with a number of classical songs and holiday tunes. Other treats include performances by the men's and women's glee clubs, respectively, and a special keyboard presentation by Lynda K. Garcia, choir accompanist.
The holiday event is free and open to the public.
