Dr. Xavier Nicholas

Dr. Nicholas is a Professor of English and Literature at Tuskegee University, where he teaches courses in American, African American, and Multi-ethnic Literature.   His poems have been published in Black World, Callaloo, Chelsea, as well as other journals.  He received his B.A. in English from Tuskegee University and his Ph.D. in English from the University of Michigan.  Dr. Nicholas is currently studying the representation of race in American art. 

Dr. Nicholas, a Tuskegee University graduate himself, joined the University as a professor since 1993.  Before coming to Tuskegee, he spent almost 10 years on the faculty at Bryn Mawr College in Bryn Mawr, Pa.  The Tuskegee graduate returned to the University as a professor after receiving his Ph.D., in English and Literature from the University of Michigan.
