General Information: The Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science is located within Tuskegee University, which is among the oldest and more significant Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the country. Incorporating the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site, the Tuskegee Airfield, and the National Park Service, the campus is home to many significant works of architecture. The School invites energetic, creative candidates to apply for three positions in its Architecture and Construction Science Departments. Successful candidates will be interested in working in a holistic, cross-disciplinary program integrating community outreach, historic preservation, sustainable design and design-build approaches. In addition to teaching and research, successful candidates are required to serve on committees, present a clear research agenda, and fully participate in the academic life of the school. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications.

 In this fulltime, tenure-track position, the successful candidate will be primarily responsible for interdisciplinary course instruction in the areas of statics, strength of materials, and/or structures for Construction Science and Architecture students and the position will entail full-time teaching responsibilities, student advising, and on-going participation in university and community service. In addition to scholarly research, candidates with expertise in the areas of design-build methods, building technology, environmental controls systems, sustainability, methods and materials, estimating, scheduling, and/or site engineering are encouraged to apply. Applicant must possess extensive hands-on construction experience. Preferred qualifications include: Construction license/certification, and ability to demonstrate knowledge of externally funded academic research, scholarly publications, and understanding of BIM and its evolving impact on architecture and construction professionals.
