Position: Assistant/Associate Professor of Architecture
Location: Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science (TSACS)
The Robert R. Taylor School of Architecture and Construction Science of Tuskegee University is among the oldest and more significant Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the country. Incorporating the Tuskegee Institute National Historic Site, the Tuskegee Airfield, and the National Park Service, the campus is home to many significant works of architecture. The School invites energetic, creative candidates to apply for a position in its architecture department. The rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
In this full-time, tenure-track position, the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to teach upper and lower division design studios and a support lecture course in the area of building construction and materials. Ability to teach other courses in architecture/digital media is desired. TSACS encourages a holistic, cross-disciplinary teaching approach which integrates community outreach, historic preservation, sustainable design and design-build. In addition to teaching, faculty are required to serve on various committees, present a clear research/practice interest, and fully participate in the academic life of the school. Other duties related to this position include: supervision of student organizations and academic advising.
- Master of Architecture degree (or related field), architectural license required
- A minimum of 3 years of architectural practice/teaching experience is required.
- Project development and funding experience is desired.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Currently authorized to work in the United States
Salary is commensurate with education, experience, and the University’s salary plan.
