Department Head Position Announcement

 

 

 

The School of Education at Tuskegee University seeks an experienced leader and educational innovator to lead the Department of Physical Education.  The department offers the Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education and provides service courses in physical education for the entire university.

 

The department head will be responsible for maintaining and further developing the academic programs in Physical Education.  A strong emphasis will be placed on program development. The successful candidate will represent the department in school and university matters; vigorously seek and support faculty involvement in acquiring grants and additional funding in support of departmental programs; oversee the recruitment and evaluation of faculty; manage the department’s budget; interpret and administer policies and procedures relating to Rules of the Alabama State Board of Education; promote and conduct scholarly pursuits within the department.

 

The position is tenure-track and the candidate must hold a terminal degree in Physical Education. Three years of teaching experience is required.
