Postdoctoral Fellow-Research Associate
Position Title: Postdoctoral Fellow/Research Associate
Duration: 12-Month, full-time (40 hours/week)
Location: Environmental Engineering Laboratory
Department of Chemical Engineering
Tuskegee University, Tuskegee, AL 36088
Pay Rate: $36,000 – 50,000 depending on qualifications & experience
Responsibilities: Assist in the planning, development, and execution of laboratory research activities involving (1) environmental analysis, (2) environmental process research in water & wastewater, (3) biochar production and utilization for carbon sequestration and soil amendment, (4) corrosion and degradation of structural materials such as stainless steel that are of relevance to the nuclear industry. Conduct experiments using state-of-the-art corrosion and characterization equipment and techniques such as electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), SEM, TEM, AAS, etc. Conduct other laboratory research work as directed.
Qualifications: A PhD or equivalent degree in chemical, materials, or environmental engineering. Self motivating researcher with excellence in scholarly productivity with minimal supervision is a critical requirement for this position. Position is renewable on an annual basis depending on productivity and availability of funding.
