Dr. Roscoe M. Moore

Dr. Roscoe M. Moore, ('68 and '69) received both the bachelor's and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degrees from Tuskegee University and the honorary Doctor of Science in 1990. He also holds the Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan and the Ph.D. degree from Johns Hopkins University. An Assistant Surgeon General with the United States Public Health Service Corps, Dr. Moore's rank as Rear Admiral makes him the highest ranking veterinarian in all of the Uniformed Services, including the military service. His distinguished public service career started with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in 1970. A Fellow of the American College of Epidemiology, Dr. Moore has authored or co-authored over 100 publications on a broad range of public health issues. His international experience includes professional activities in Sub-Saharan Africa, Yugoslavia, Poland, Mexico, Croatian, and Canada.
