Vanessa Roberts Parham

Vanessa Roberts Parham, ('73), received a bachelor's degree in home economics from Tuskegee University and a master's degree in special education from Atlanta University. Since moving to Los Angeles in the 1970's, Ms. Parham has launched a variety of successful business ventures, including Jan and Van's Whistle Stop Cafe and Catering Service; Katering Klowns for Kids, a children's party clown service; and a pre-school lunch program which provides hot lunches for children. She also teaches cooking and nutrition to special needs children in the Los Angeles Unified School District. Ms. Parham is author of The African-American Child's Heritage Cookbook which is written expressly for children age five and above and their adult helpers.
