2002 - Dr. Dmitri Perkins

Dr. Dmitri Perkins received his B.S. degree in Computer Science from Tuskegee University in 1995 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from Michigan State University in 1997 and 2002, respectively. While at Michigan State, Dr. Perkins was a research assistant and lead lab manager for the Wireless Communications and High Speed Networking Laboratory. His doctoral research focused on the design and development of a quality-of-service routing framework for mobile ad hoc networks. Dr. Perkins has also worked as a technical assistant for several organizations such as MIT Lincoln Labs, Telcordia, and the Engineering and Science Division of the Michigan state government. Currently, Dr. Perkins is an Assistant Professor at the Center for Advanced Computer Studies at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. His research interests include (1) the modeling, analysis, and performance evaluation of computer networks; (2) network traffic control and modeling; and (3) protocols for mobile and wireless networking/computing including mobile ad hoc networks.Dr. Perkins is the loving husband of Coretta J. Perkins and the proud father of Paige Elizabeth. In addition to his professional interests, he enjoys watching and playing sports such as golf, tennis and football. Most importantly, Dr. Perkins enjoys studying the Bible and regards the teaching and application of Biblical principles as the guiding force of his life's work.
