2006 - Fred Norton, II
Mr. Fred L. Norton, II is a proud 1994 Computer Science graduate who holds Tuskegee near and dear to his heart. Matriculation at Tuskegee enriched and enhanced Mr. Norton's drive to continue to educate his whole person -- his hand and heart, as well as his mind. While attending Tuskegee, Mr. Norton was an active member of the Association for Computing Machinery. Upon graduation, Mr. Norton accepted a position as a Software Test Engineer with the Microsoft Corporation in Redmond, WA.
While at Microsoft, Mr. Norton has held several positions, including Software Test Engineer (as part of the Exchange Server team), Test Lead, and Lead Program Manager. Most recently, his love of video games has landed him the job of Test Manager in the Microsoft Games group. He is responsible for building test teams and testing strategies for games that run on Xbox 360TM and Windows VistaTM. Mr. Norton leads a team of 35 people and manages a budget of over $3.2M. His team supports games such as Halo, Age of Empires, Forza Motor Sport, and Flight Simu-lator - just to name a few.
Born in 1966 to Marva Norton and Fred L. Norton Sr, in Flint Michigan, the Norton family later moved to Lansing Michigan where Mr. Norton II graduated from Lansing Everett High School.
Mr. Norton currently resides in Redmond, Washington with his beautiful wife, Kidist, a 1994 University of Washington graduate, and their two smart and beautiful children Leila, age 5 and Isaiah, 7 months.
