Curry and Ahsan Awarded an Alabama EPSCoR Fellowship 

Department of Chemistry graduate student, Mr. Md. Ariful Ahsan, under the tutelage of Drs. Michael Curry and Willard Collier, has been awarded an Alabama EPSCoR GRSP (Graduate Research Scholars Program) fellowship to fund his chemistry thesis entitled, “Synthesis, Characterization, and Application of Cu, Ni, and bimetallic CuNi Nanoparticles Encapsulated within Hydroxyl-terminated Poly(amidoamine) Dendrimers.”  This award will start Fall semester, 2013.  ALEPSCoR’s Graduate Research Scholars Program (GRSP) seeks to invest heavily in the research efforts and attract talented future leaders to Alabama’s universities.  Curry, Collier and Ahsan will work jointly with The Center for Advanced Materials on this project.  The GRSP generally awards student pursuing the Master’s degree a maximum amount of $50,000 and may be renewed annually.
