The Chemistry Seminar for February 6, 2013, will be presented by Dr. Konstantinos Kavallieratos
from Florida International University, Miami, FL. The presentation will be at noon in Armstrong Hall
Dr. Kavallieratos is an Associate Professor specializing in Inorganic Chemistry. The title of his talk is “Fighting the dominant binding power of water: The Interplay of Coordination Chemistry and Solvation in Designing Selective Sensors for Toxic Metals and other Ionic Targets.”
Prior to his appointment at FIU, Dr. Kavallieratos received degrees from Yale University and the University of Athens, Greece. He also completed a post-doctoral appointment at Oak Ridge National Laboratory.
