Pilot Grant for Dr. Mohamed O. Abdalla, Assistant Professor

The Department of Chemistry would like to congratulate Dr. Abdalla on being awarded a pilot grant in the amount of $10,000.00 for his participation as a scholar in the Health Disparities Research Training Program. Dr. Abdalla has fulfilled all of the requirements set forth for this award, including attendance and participation in a minimum of 80% of the HDRTP career development training seminars and workshops, and the development and submission of an  R03 (or equivalent) grant proposal (‘Dual Targeting Nanoscale Drug Delivery Systems for  Treatment of Metastatic Prostate Cancer’). This pilot funding is specifically designated to help Dr. Abdalla to obtain critical preliminary data to support the development of a competitive proposal to submit for independent funding. Dr. Abdalla was mentored by Dr. Timothy Turner, a biology professor and the director of the RCMI program at Tuskegee University.
