History & Political Science
Mission Statement
The History Program and the Political Science Program provides students with core and elective courses which prepare students for career paths in history, political science or related fields. A degree in History or Political Science fulfills graduation requirements and uniquely positions the graduating Tuskegee student for graduate level study including the fields of law, public service, education, political analysis, or museum studies. Graduates of the Tuskegee University History or Political Science Program are distinguished by their superior writing, research, and critical thinking skills.
Departmental Vision
Train students to become critical thinkers and to investigate essential and pertinent questions that constitute the foundation of their respective disciplines. Students are also taught to successfully articulate the major tenets of their respective majors through writing and speaking. These skills will be valuable in whatever career path a graduate takes: the general job market, graduate school, entrepreneurship, or professional school.
