Summer 2013, Physics 301 – End Semester Report

Enrollment and Drop-rate:
The number of enrolled students is 19; the number of enrolled students at the beginning of semester was 21. The drop-rate is (21-19)/21*100%=9.5%.

Pass-rate:
Current number of enrolled students was 19; the number of students with grade of “A” was 6, the number of students with grade of “B” was 10; the number of students with grade of “C” was 3; the number of students with grade of “D” was 0; the number of students with grade of “F” was 0; the number of students with grade of “I” was 0. The pass-rate is (6+10+3)/19*100% = 100%. Their distribution is shown in the following figure,

Pre- and Post-assessments:
Two assessments were given to students at beginning of semester and end of semester, respectively. The two assessments are identical, composed of 20 math problems and 20 physics problems. The average score of pre-assessment is 44%, while the average score of post-assessment is 51%. The average score of math part changes from 50% to 54%, and the average score of physics part changes from 38% to 48%.
