DR. DOROTHY E. HOOKS - HR Director, Macon Co. Public Schools

Dr. Dorothy Ellis Hooks has served some forty plus years in the educational arena. She started her career as a para-educator, worked as a classroom teacher for twenty years, continuing her serves as school-wide resource teacher, middle school assistant principal, elementary school principal, middle school principal, district technology and testing coordinator.

She earned her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, Principal N - 12 certification and Master of Education from Alabama State University, and Bachelor of Science from Tuskegee University. She presently holds the position of Director of Human Resources, Macon County Schools, Tuskegee, Alabama. Dr. Hooks recognizes that educators perform their duties well with effective leadership and on-going professional development. She is the proud mother of four lovely daughters and the grandmother of eleven grandchildren.
