Project Summary

The Harvey Hall project was a major renovation to the existing building which was constructed in 1945. The goal of the project was to optimize the number of student beds in the building and to bring the antiquated interior up to contemporary housing standards. Harvey Hall is a four (4) story building constructed of brick exterior walls with a concrete structural system. The project called for a complete demolition of the building interior. The intent of this renovation was to maximize the number of student beds for upper class female students. The rooms are configured into a two bedroom, shared bathroom suite style format. Other amenities included are a common kitchen area, vending area, laundry space and a variety of study rooms. This renovated residential facility accommodates 126 students.

Although the facility is not a historic structure the existing building is located in the University's National Historic District. The building fronts Booker T. Washington Boulevard and is north of the Kellogg Conference Center.
