Tuskegee University Employee Completes Distance Learning Training in Record Time

TUSKEGEE UNIVERSITY, AL -- (February 21, 2005) -- Freddie Boston, a long-time employee of Tuskegee University, recently completed 12 modules of the Pharmacy Technician Course through Education Direct-distance learning institution. Although designed to take approximately 18 months to complete, Boston successfully passed the Pharmacy Technician Distance Learning Program in seven months. Earning an A/B average, she received her diploma on Sept. 24, 2004.

"I am honored and proud of this accomplishment. I have worked hard to receive the Certified Pharmacy Technician training and to complete the 12 modules under the Education Direct program. I also truly thank the Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine and especially my immediate supervisor, Pharmacist Starr Miller, for supporting me as I worked to further my career objectives. The opportunity to further my education and my career has truly been a blessing. I encourage everyone, if possible, to consider distance learning education. It is truly a good thing to do for yourself," said Boston.

Boston started working in the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1984. She is currently a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the Department of Clinical Sciences. Boston earned her Pharmacy Technician Certification in July 2001.
