How to Find Books

  • Go to the library’s home page, www. tuskegee.edu/libraries
  • Click on the Library Catalog
  • The four basic search commands are word or phrase, author, title, or subject.  Use the drop down arrow key to limit your search

Examples:

word or phrase = education policy

 author = carr james

 title = Segregation: the rising costs for America

subject = race relations

  • Write down the complete call number (This will help you to find the book on the shelf)

Example:   HQ1031. D34 2000

  • Some call numbers end in EB.  These are electronic books and can only be viewed online.

For example:  HD30.28.M3829 2002 EB

To verify whether the library subscribes to a particular journal, follow the same steps as you did in finding a book.   Use your drop down arrow key to limit by periodical title
