Conference links aimed at strengthening academic ties with DOD

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (February 27, 2014) – University city and government officials with the Department of Defense met Wednesday and Thursday at the “Taking the Pentagon to the People” conference. Held in the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center at Tuskegee University, the series of workshops and speakers covered topics such as proposal development, Department of Defense University educational opportunities, research and development, and civil rights.

The host of speakers included: George Cooper, executive director for White House Initiative on HBCUs; Dr. Matthew Jenkins, Tuskegee University Acting President; and Clarence Johnson, director of the Office of Diversity Management and Equal Opportunity at DOD.
