Holiday poinsettia sale to share Christmas spirit with customers and veterans


TUSKEGEE, Ala. (December 4, 2013) – One student club is helping to spread holiday cheer by offering poinsettia plants for sale this week. The Event Planning Club is selling the potted plants for $10 to raise funds to support its activities. The club will also be selling them Sunday at the Tuskegee University Golden Voices Concert Choir’s annual Christmas concert. The concert starts at 6:30 p.m. CST and will be held in the University Chapel. 

Customers who do not wish to take home a plant can buy one as a gift for a local veteran. Club adviser and adjunct instructor, Megan Johnson, said the donated poinsettias would be given to veterans in the area veterans’ hospital and nursing homes.

Her email is This week, plants can also be picked up at Johnson’s office in the Kellogg Hotel and Conference Center at Tuskegee University on Thursday from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and on Friday from 11:15 a.m. – 1:45 p.m. The sale will continue as long as supplies last.
