Presidential transition team member Elizabeth Watkins Saul dies; memorial scholarship planned


TUSKEGEE, Ala. (June 17, 2011) — Tuskegee University presidential transition team member Elizabeth Watkins Saul has passed away in Tucson, Arizona. In addition to being an essential part of President Gilbert Rochon’s Transition Team; Ms. Saul was a member of two Transition Team committees: Improve the Management and Performance of the Kellogg Center, and Improve Staff Quality and Productivity. The Elizabeth Watkins Saul Scholarship is being established at Tuskegee University, beginning in the Fall Semester, 2011.


Saul, who earned her bachelor’s degree in political science/public policy from Texas Tech University, most recently worked as a senior manager of human resources at Raytheon Missile Systems, where she played a key role in the recruitment of Tuskegee graduates for careers in engineering and management. 


There will be a Mass dedicated to Saul on Sunday, June 19 at 9:15 a.m. at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 215 S. Craycroft Road, Tucson, Ariz. On Monday, June 20 at 10 a.m., a memorial service will be held at Loews Ventana Canyon, 7000 N Resort Drive, in Tucson. Flowers and other tokens of condolence can be sent to her home address: 241 N.
