State representative appointed to Tuskegee University Board of Trustees
TUSKEGEE, Alabama (May 3, 2013) — Tuskegee alumna, State Rep. Pebblin Warren, has been chosen to serve on the Tuskegee University Board of Trustees. Gov. Robert Bentley appointed Warren, who serves Alabama District 82. Effective immediately, Warren will replace James Cade Armstrong and serve until May 2, 2018.
Warren has extensive experience in education; she has worked with Alabama Industrial Development Training, Trenholm State Technical College and the Alabama Department of Postsecondary Education. She also held several positions at Tuskegee University including posts in the Office of Financial Aid Director and School of Veterinary Medicine.
Warren was first elected to the Alabama House of Representatives in a special election held on March 8, 2005. She serves on the Commerce and Small Business, Insurance, and Lee County Legislation committees. She has a B.S. degree in business administration and a M.Ed. degree in personnel administration from Tuskegee University. She also holds a certificate from the University of Notre Dame’s College of Business Graduate Division.
Warren also serves as an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Tuskegee, Ala. She is on the board of directors of the following organizations: Aid to Inmate Mothers, Macon-Russell Community Action, and is a member of the Tuskegee Area Chamber of Commerce and numerous professional associations.
She is the recipient of several honors including: the John H. Buchanan, Jr. Distinguished Service Award; an Outstanding Service Award from the Alabama College System Deans of Student Affairs Association; and Outstanding Volunteer Service Award from Aid to Inmate Mothers.
