Upward Bound holds culmination program

TUSKEGEE, Ala. (May 5, 2011) — The Tuskegee University Upward Bound program held its culmination event on campus on April 30. During the program, the graduating high school seniors and other students who excelled academically were recognized and honored.

Several seniors presented their overviews of the program and expressed appreciation for the efforts, care and concern of their counselors, teachers and director.  Many noted that they had not considered attending college before participating in Upward Bound.

Upward Bound is a federally funded TRIO Program that provides fundamental support to participants in their preparation for college entrance.  The program provides opportunities for participants to succeed in their pre-college performance and ultimately in their higher education pursuits. The 75 students who participate in the Tuskegee program are enrolled in Booker T. Washington, Notasulga, Loachapoka and Russell County High School.
