Sheena Harris is an Assistant Professor of History at Tuskegee University. She also serves as the Interim Director of Student Engagement Initiatives and coordinator of the University-Wide Honors Program. Dr. Harris earned her bachelor’s in Political Science and a Master’s of Applied Social Science in History, both from Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, Florida. In 2012 she earned her Ph. D. in African American History from the University of Memphis.

Dr. Harris is in the final stages of her monograph on Margaret Murray Washington. She has published works on Margaret M. Washington, Black Women’s Clubs and Respectability Politics. Dr. Harris is also a United States Army Veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
