Tuskegee University (TU) has designated a Center of Information Assurance Education (CIAE) to serve as a regional model for promoting excellence in information security education, assist businesses, government agencies, educational institutions and industry in their information security needs, and serve as the first point of call for any information security emergency. The Center is housed in the department of Computer Science in the College of Business and Information Science.

The endorsement and intent letter from the Provost of Tuskegee University and letter from the Dean of TU College of Business and Information Science demonstrate the official approval for the establishment of the TU Center of Information Assurance Education.

Also the Committee on National Security Systems (CNSS), the National Security Agency (NSA), and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have certified that the set of courseware offered by Tuskegee University meets the National Training Standard for Information Systems Security Professionals, CNSS (formerly NSTISSI) Nos. 4011 and 4012.
