Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

The successful candidates are required to teach a full-time teaching load, as mandated by the Tuskegee University faculty handbook and offered by the Department of Physics. Courses offered by the department of Physics includes physical science, algebra-based elementary general physics and calculus-based general physics lectures and corresponding lab courses.  Department offers modern physics, wave phenomena, analytical mechanics, thermodynamics, laser and their applications, solid state physics and several other higher-level physics courses for physics.  Other jobs duties include mentoring of students, attend faculty meetings, committee meetings, and take part in university and department organized events.  The appointed faculty also is also required to engage in research and seek external funding. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Applicants must have a Ph.D. Degree from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized college or university. 
  • Applicant must have experience and passion for teaching undergraduate students, demonstrate scholarship, and the ability to work in a team environment. 
  • Research experience in the area of thermal physics, statistical physics, modern physics, quantum physics or other fields of experimental or theoretical physics research that can involve undergraduate students in research is preferred.
