Position: Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Pharmacology              Location: Biomedical Sciences/CVM

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the tripartite mission of teaching, research and service
  • Participate in classroom, clinical and laboratory instruction for veterinary students, graduate students, and interns
  • Must demonstrate creative scholarship, collaborative research activities and develop innovative teaching and service programs to enhance the Department and the College
  • Advise graduate students, conduct research and attract extramural funding in area of specialty or can engage in collaborative research areas in the College (Current research interests in the College are related to cancer, drug discovery, food safety, reproductive biology and control of food intake.)
  • Provide support to the graduate program in the College, including recruitment of graduate students
  • Engage in the development of research projects for students that strengthen the department
  • Participation on College and University committees is expected  

Qualifications

  • DVM, or equivalent degree and PhD in Pharmacology; or Board-certified/board eligibility in the American College of Veterinary Clinical Pharmacology (PhD in Pharmacology with veterinary medicine-related experience will be considered)
  • Applicants with demonstrated teaching effectiveness and a track record in attracting research funding are preferred 
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrate ability to work with others in a collegial diverse team environment.

Salary
Commensurate with education, training and experience; *Salary is contingent upon outside funding.
