Position: Clinical Instructor of Small Animal Emergency/Critical Care              Location: College of Veterinary Medicine- Clinical Sciences (Small Animal Medicine)

Status: Full Time

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in the tripartite mission of teaching, and service (limited emphasis on research)
  • Participate in clinical and laboratory instruction and supervision for veterinary students and interns
  • Participate in innovative teaching and service programs to enhance the Department and the College
  • Participate in providing client services to the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH), with emphasis on, but not limited to Small Animal Emergency/Critical Care
  • Participate in community outreach service activities
  • Scholarship and Professional Development: The faculty member is encouraged to pursue clinical research and professional development
  • Serve on College and University committees
  • Perform other duties as assigned 


  • DVM, or equivalent degree and successful completion of a rotating internship program is preferred; candidates with more than 3 years of clinical emergency experience will be considered
  • Must have clinical experience and documented competency in small animal medicine and surgery
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Must have a demonstrated ability of working with others in a collegial team environment
