Position: Financial Analyst                                                 Location: Pre and Post Awards Administration

Status: Full Time

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Interpret and enforce grant policies and procedures related to external funding
  • Prepare financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual or annual basis as required by assigned funding agencies
  • Prepare monthly drawdown reports for reimbursable expenditures for grants on letter of credit
  • Maintain grant receivable for assigned grant accounts
  • Record budget revisions at the request of the principal investigators to the general ledger
  • Review and approve all expenditure documents for compliance (personnel action forms, check requests, requisitions, student employment, etc.)
  • Maintain grant/contract files for assigned funding agencies
  • Calculate and record indirect costs to the general ledger
  • Routinely serve as clerical personnel in the absence of an accounting clerk
  • Responsible for contract and grant closeout
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or closely related field
  • Knowledge of practices and procedures in grants and contracts
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Experience working with and interpreting federal regulations and policies
  • Experience with Microsoft Office
  • Provide excellent customer service in a courteous manner
  • Must be a team player

 Commensurate with education, training and experience
