Position: Program Assistant                                          Department: Bioethics Center

Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • Assume all administrative, clerical and program responsibilities related to internal and external correspondence related to the Administrative Supplement for Research on Bioethical Issues
  • Coordinate travel arrangements, meetings, symposia and conferences
  • Schedule travel for site visits, check requests and expense reimbursements given back form Grant Management Office for corrections.
  • Assist with budget tracking
  • Assist PI and Co-PI with scheduling and confirming meeting related to the research
  • Prepare requisitions, check requests, intra-institutional vouchers and maintain support documentation, as required
  • Check on status of orders processed and verify when purchases have been received
  • Update budget tracking system using Microsoft Excel by entering approved requisitions, check request and expense reimbursements
  • Maintain sign-in sheet for Research Assistants
  • Prepare PowerPoint presentations for PI and Co-PI related to the project
  • Prepare manuscript related to the research for publications
  • Other duties as assigned  

Job Details

  • Demonstrative analytical skills, excellent planning, and organizational capacity
  • Demonstrate ability to work with administrators, faculty, staff, students and other university constituencies
  • Ability to plan, organize, allocate, coordinate and gather/analyze qualitative and qualitative data for reports
  • Demonstrate the ability to make presentations to a diverse audience as requested by PI and Co-PI
  • Experience in computer systems and using database management, spreadsheet, and word processing tools.
  • Knowledge of the Internet World Wide Web and online systems


  • Bachelor’s degree required in an area related to and experience coordination, technical writing, oral and written communication.
  • Experience interacting in rural and urban area in the southern parts of the United States
  • Some experience with scientific writing preferred.
  • Knowledge of fiscal rules and regulations at Tuskegee University
