Essential Duties and Job Responsibilities

  • Promotes and administers Division II volleyball program
  • Provides leadership in the coaching, scouting, planning and executing all phases of the women’s volleyball program and related activities, on and off the court
  • Coordinates and recommends women’s volleyball athletic-related financial aid through the Director of Athletics
  • Directs and coordinates women’s volleyball related selection and recruitment of student-athletes
  • Counsels women’s volleyball athletes on personal matters and work to ensure their academic success and timely graduation
  • Maintains an inventory of all women’s volleyball equipment and supplies
  • Recommends volleyball related equipment and supply purchases
  • Prepares and make women’s volleyball budget recommendations to the Director of Athletics
  • Represents the University and its women’s volleyball program to the community and alumni
  • Works within the framework of the SIAC (Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference) and the NCAA Division II philosophy of athletics
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or the President of the University
  • Must place primary emphasis on the education and welfare of student-athletes. The following are required:
  • Should demonstrate successful coaching experience in volleyball, preferably at the NCAA Division II or I level;
  • Success at recruiting in the southeastern region and nationally;
  • Knowledge of financial aid regulations and experience in working with a combination of athletic grants and financial aid;
  • Knowledge of NCAA regulations as they relate to volleyball (specifically in the areas of the following: recruiting, financial aid, ethical conduct, amateurism, academic eligibility, rules, and regulations governing transfer athletes, and playing and practice seasons;
  • Must be committed to and understand the role of intercollegiate athletics within the framework of the mission of the University; and
  • Maintains a high level of personal/professional integrity

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required / Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in coaching and recruiting at the collegiate level
  • Effective communication, organizational and interpersonal skills

Commensurate with education, training, and experience
