Investigations

The Investigations Unit investigates criminal activity coming to the attention of the Tuskegee University Police Department. The Investigations Unit is responsible for the follow-up investigations of felony criminal cases including the filing of documents necessary for sucessful prosecution, and it presents these criminal cases to the Grand Jury, follows the cases to Grand Jury, and maintains criminal case files.

The Investigations Unit conducts internal affairs investigations as directed by the Chief of the Police and is responsible for the collection of evidence. The Unit is also responsible for all surveillance activities in connection with criminal cases and identifies problem areas as it relates to Crime Prevention, Uniform Crime Reports and statistical reporting of facts to the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
