EARTH2TU INITIATIVE

The Carver Integrative Sustainability Center (CISC) is an integrative and innovation-based research and extension Center of Excellence at Tuskegee University. The CISC launched EARTHWeek in 2016 to highlight and spread awareness of sustainable innovations in black, indigenous, and people of color communities. In the wake of the pandemic, EARTHWeek2020 went virtual, and stirred a lot of national interest. As the Future Farmers and Agricultural Specialists (2FAS) Program (internship program for agriculture and related studies pre-professionals) led the program, it was decided to create #Earth2TU as a virtual platform to spread awareness all year. It is our intention to foster a culture of knowledge and understanding of agricultural and environmental practices and policies.

We have created three segments as part of the #Earth2TU virtual engagement series, of which all segments will be delivered via Zoom.

Movie Mondays: Tune in with us to view a short film, documentary, or movie that speaks to the African diaspora’s relationship to sustainability and related studies. Movie Monday is scheduled once per month @ 6 p.m. CT. If there’s a movie you would like featured for Movie Monday, please email cisc@tuskegee.edu with your suggestions.
