CLASSIFICATION OF GRADUATE STUDENTS

I. REGULAR GRADUATE STUDENTS

A regular graduate student is the one who is fully approved to work toward a graduate degree at Tuskegee University and has an advisor and a graduate committee to outline his / her program of study. The student does not have any of the deficiencies listed below in the conditional graduate status

II. CONDITIONAL GRADUATE STATUS

A student who has

2. A deficiency in any of the curricular requirements of the student as assigned by the major advisor and his / her graduate committee

All deficiencies must be corrected before granting regular graduate status.

III. PROVISIONAL GRADUATE STATUS

An undergraduate student who has less than 15 semester credit hours to complete his / her baccalaureate degree and a cumulative grade point average no less than 3.0 can be admitted to the graduate program provisionally. This student may enroll in no more than six semester credit hours of graduate courses – the 500 level courses. Approval by the course instructor, the Department Chairperson, the College Dean and the Dean of Graduate Programs must be obtained before registering for courses.
