On this Giving Tuesday — Tuesday, Nov. 27 — Tuskegee University is highlighting three special elements of the Tuskegee Experience that will help ensure our students’ success, enrich their educational experiences, and preserve our rich heritage.
Please make a gift to one (or more) of our projects below, and share your support with others with the hashtag #TUGiveTues18 on social media.
New sounds and a new look for the Marching Crimson Pipers
Cited as the nation’s first HBCU marching band, the Marching Crimson Pipers Band has provided the soundtrack for the Tuskegee Experience since 1906. When we Ball and Parlay, our fans rally, our teams win, and we’re all filled with the pride of the swift-growing South. Your gift on Giving Tuesday can help fund new instruments, scholarships and travel expenses — and maybe even re-outfit every musician with a newly redesigned uniform!
A Tuskegee education with a global flair
Tuskegee’s study abroad programs have traditionally allowed students to spend their summers on four different continents as they continue to acquire college credit and expand their horizons. Not every student can afford those opportunities, so your gift on Giving Tuesday can provide more students with study abroad stipends, as well as enhance on-campus programs like global fairs and international student organizations that expose every Tuskegee student with a global perspective.
Preserving our past through The Legacy Museum
We have a duty to preserve our past, and The Legacy Museum — one of our campus’ premier arts and cultural destinations — does just that. It celebrates and honors the university’s historical heritage and impact as a resource for students, researchers, history enthusiasts and international audiences of all ages. Your Giving Tuesday gift will help it continue to tell the story of our past by upgrading its preservation and digitizing equipment, display and security technologies, and its marketing resources.

About Giving Tuesday
Giving Tuesday is an annual global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving in the U.S. and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving. Since its inaugural year in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources.
